I Survived 11 inch by 14 inch oil on canvas $160 see enlarged picture.

Description about the painting:

This painting is about a Deaf person survived through her/his lifetime growing up orally where hands were slapped, hit, beaten, "chopped off", cut, "chained" and tied up. I am inspired by Betty G. Miller's Amslan Prohibited where her artwork shows hands chained and chopped. Now that a Deaf person lived throught the life of oppression, the chain broken off, the fingers were stitched and band-aided. And yet, American Sign Language still stands strong. It is about a Deaf person surviving. On the hand, the word written "I Survived."
